Wodehousian Whimsy: How XRP ETFs Are As Stubborn As Bunsen Jellies!

Bloomberg’s James Seyffart, that very dapper economist who could write a check faster than a cocker spaniel can fetch a tennis ball, has just lauded the spot XRP ETFs for their iron‑clad performance despite a market that feels as unsettled as a marmalade jar on a wobbly table.

He raves at them while a steady stream of investors performs a grand exit, a move that would make even the most sardonic of financiers sigh.

XRP ETFs Hold Up Well

Picture this: the first month after the debut in mid‑November, Canary Capital’s XRPC sailed through Wall Street with more trading volume than a swashbuckling ship in a hurricane. The fund broke the 2025 trading volume record on its launch day, and 1 billion dollars of net inflows slipped into its coffers in roughly a month-only to find that the tide has since rolled out a little faster.

According to SoSoValue, the funds attracted a dazzling $666.61 million in November and a modest $500 million in December. January’s inflow was only a pittance at $15.59 million, and February nudged it up to $58.09 million.

March looks poised to join the squeeze club, with net outflows of $26.07 million. The withdrawals came in tidy chunks: $6.15 million on March 5, $16.62 million on March 6, $18.11 million on March 9, and $3.88 million on March 10.

Yet Seyffart remains unconcerned, remarking that the ETFs have “actually held up pretty well despite the massive pullback in price.” His data says the cumulative total hits a pat‑on‑the‑back $1.4 billion, while SoSoValue’s heads up is a comforting $1.21 billion.

The Price Pullback

Although the ETFs have raked in well over $1 billion in four months, the underlying token’s price has quick‑sanded down. Notably, it went from a cozy $2.50 to a 15‑month low of $1.11 on February 6, and it still hovers around $1.40-off by 45% since the ETF’s debut.
