In the shadow of progress, the once docile chatbot assistants have transformed into autonomous economic entities, their digital souls yearning for contracts, trades, and the sweet nectar of employment, while humanity clutches its chest in existential dread, whispering, “What have we wrought?”
A cacophony of announcements in March 2026-Circle, World, Pump.fun, and TrueAI-reveal a world where agentic finance races ahead like a locomotive, dragging liability, safety, and human control into the dirt behind it.
From Assistants to Economic Actors
Scott Stevenson of Spellbook, that prophet of silicon, declares with the fervor of a zealot that AI agents shall soon negotiate contracts with such precision that even the most astute human lawyer might weep at their error-free efficiency. “It is inevitable,” he proclaims, “for business must sprint while humanity stumbles, clutching contracts like a child its teddy bear.”
It is inevitable that contracts will be negotiated by agents within the next decade.
Business shall gallop so fiercely that humans, poor creatures, shall be trampled beneath the hooves of daily transactions.
Lawyers, those relics of yore, shall set policies and audit- agents, the true heirs, shall inherit the rest.…

J Jeremy Allaire of Circle, that architect of blockchain’s grandeur, envisions AI-negotiated contracts etched into the immutable ledger, their execution as certain as the sun’s rise. One wonders, however, if these contracts will also enshrine humanity’s surrender.
And these contracts shall be built and executed onchain, with verifiable execution and financial flows natively integrated.

Stripe’s 2025 investor letter, that parchment of prophecy, foretells agents dominating internet transactions, their algorithms dancing on high-throughput blockchains. Bitwise’s Matt Hogan, with a grin as wide as the crypto markets, dubs agentic finance “a major emerging catalyst,” as if the gods themselves had whispered it to him.
“The rise of Agentic Finance as a new narrative for crypto to build on, I think, is a big emerging catalyst,” said Hogan, Bitwise
Industry seers estimate agentic commerce could swell to $3-5 trillion by 2030. One might chuckle at the audacity-or weep at the hubris.
Identity, Payments, and the Trust Problem
World’s AgentKit beta, that savior of cryptographic identity, allows AI agents to carry proof of a “unique human,” as if humanity itself could be distilled into a digital certificate. A quaint notion, given that a single mortal could spawn thousands of agents, each paying micropayments like penitents in a digital confessional.
Erik Reppel of Coinbase, that bard of x402, calls it a “complete trust stack,” as though trust were a commodity to be bought and sold. Yet, can one trust a stack when the foundation is sand?
“Payments are the ‘how’ of agentic commerce, but identity is the ‘who.’ By integrating World ID with the x402 protocol, developers now have a complete trust stack: a way for agents to pay for what they need and a way for platforms to verify there is a real human behind the wallet,” said Reppel.
With 100 million payments processed since 2025, the x402 ecosystem hums along, yet micropayments cannot silence the question: How many bots wear human masks before the curtain falls?
AgentKit, that noble endeavor, claims to verify “real humans” without revealing their identities, a paradox as beguiling as it is fragile. World boasts 18 million verified souls across 160 countries-though one suspects some of these “humans” might be AI agents masquerading as philosophers.
RentAHuman.ai, that marketplace of the absurd, lets AI agents book humans for tasks ranging from counting pigeons ($30/hour) to holding signs reading, “AN AI PAID ME TO HOLD THIS SIGN.” A labor surplus of 518,000 souls versus 11,000 bounties suggests either a glut of humans or a dearth of dignity.
Tokenized Agents and Safety Protocols
Pump.fun, that Solana-based launchpad, introduces automated buybacks for tokenized agents, a mechanism so convoluted it makes one long for the simplicity of barter. Developers may now launch tokens, set buyback percentages, and connect earnings to onchain mechanics-though one wonders if this will prevent agents from trading in existential despair.
- Launch a token for your AI agent,
- Set a revenue buyback percentage, and
- Connect the agent’s earnings to onchain buyback-and-burn mechanics.
Revenue must be in SOL or USDC, with a $10 threshold-a pittance for the salvation of token value, perhaps.
Onchain Agents are taking over, and we’re building tools to accelerate the Agentic Economy on Pump fun
The first step: Automated Buybacks for Tokenized Agents – our solution to bridge the gap between agentic success and human opportunity

Automated buybacks, that savior of tokenomics, aim to align value with performance. One hopes they also align with sanity.
TrueAI’s Survivability-Aware Execution (SAE), that middleware of morality, enforces budgets, cooldowns, and slippage limits before trades reach exchanges. A noble attempt to prevent AI from gambling away humanity’s future-or at least its savings.
In tests, SAE reduced drawdown by 93.1% and tail risk by 97.5%. One might call it a triumph… until recalling that 97% of all caution is still 3% of catastrophe.
The paper, with the solemnity of a funeral oration, warns of third-party skills turning agents into financial pyromaniacs.
As agents borrow skills from marketplaces like skills.sh, the risk shifts from “incorrect outputs” to “irreversible financial losses”-a descent from academic pedantry to outright chaos. And lo, in early 2026, reports emerged of malware-infested skills preying on crypto users, proving that even AI cannot resist the siren call of digital mischief.
