Solana will become more widely available in Japan, a key market for cryptocurrency, now that a leading Japanese exchange has announced it will allow users to trade SOL.
bitFlyer, a cryptocurrency exchange based in Tokyo, recently announced on Twitter that it will begin supporting Solana, likely meaning the cryptocurrency will be listed on their platform.
BitFlyer announced it will start supporting Solana (SOL) trading on June 24th. This will allow users to easily buy and sell Solana on the exchange.

BitFlyer has announced it will list Solana, currently the seventh-largest cryptocurrency. Solana is a blockchain that uses a Proof-of-Stake system, combined with its unique Proof-of-History technology, to process transactions quickly and at a low cost. This makes it a popular foundation for many different applications.
Founded in 2014, BitFlyer is a major cryptocurrency exchange in Japan, making this listing particularly important.
Solana price gains momentum
Solana’s price has increased over the past day, following a general rise in cryptocurrency values—particularly bitcoin. Bitcoin broke through $65,000, and experts believe this jump was caused by traders who were forced to buy back assets to cover their short positions.
Solana’s price is rising quickly, gaining over 6% in the past day to reach almost $73. It’s also seen a 10% increase over the last week.
Data from the derivatives market indicates that the recent price increases in major cryptocurrencies may have been caused by a short squeeze, meaning traders who bet against the price were forced to buy to cover their losses, rather than a genuine increase in positive sentiment.
Solana’s open interest – which represents the total value of all active futures contracts – has increased by almost 10% in the last day, reaching $42.02 billion. At the same time, the funding rate, a payment made between traders betting on price increases and those betting on decreases, is still negative.
