SEC’s Crypto Task Force Hits the Road 🛣️ – Because Why Not?

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) posted on X (yeah, that’s Twitter now, keep up) on Aug. 22 that their Crypto Task Force is on a “nationwide series of events” called “Crypto Task Force: On the Road.” 🗺️🚗 Sounds like a bad reality show. They said:

“The SEC’s Crypto Task Force is hitting the road and hosting roundtables to hear from crypto projects. Because, you know, they finally realized people exist outside D.C. 🏛️→🌎”

Apparently, this is building on five roundtables they already had in Washington D.C., because nothing says “inclusive” like making everyone fly to the capital. ✈️ Now they’re bringing the party to the people. How generous. 🙄

They’re all like, “We want to hear from smaller projects and underrepresented voices.” 🗣️ Sure, after years of ignoring them. “Far-reaching impact? Comprehensive outreach?” Sounds like someone’s trying to cover their tracks. 🕵️‍♂️

The tour started in Berkeley on Aug. 4 (hipsters and crypto, a match made in heaven 🌱), then Boston on Aug. 19 (bean town gets a turn). Upcoming stops include Dallas, Chicago, NYC (twice, because why not?), LA, Cleveland, Scottsdale, and Ann Arbor. 🗓️ Pack your bags, crypto folks, the SEC’s coming to town! 🎉
