Pi Network’s Grand Gesture: A Symphony of Promises and Perplexity

One might think that in an age where even one’s socks can be monetized through NFTs, the Pi Network Core Team would have mastered the art of delivering value. Yet here we are, amidst a cacophony of criticism, as they unveil yet another feature to “enhance performance” and “empower users.” How thrilling! One can almost hear the collective sigh of the internet.

The latest revelation? A Testnet now equipped with an RPC server, a development so momentous that one suspects the Core Team celebrated by sending telegrams to every blockchain oracle in existence. Alas, the true test of innovation lies not in the announcement but in the execution, which remains as elusive as a polite response from a Kraken support agent.

Protocol Prowess and Perilous Progress

Following the recent Pi Day festivities-a celebration of circles and code-the team has upgraded their protocol to version 20.2. One imagines the developers tossing confetti into the void, only to find it landing back in their laps. The promise of smart contracts looms like a mirage, tantalizing yet unattainable, while the community remains as impressed as a goldfish witnessing a ballet.

With whispers of Mainnet migrations still echoing like a broken record, the Core Team has shifted focus to their “game-changing” upgrades. If by “game-changing” they mean a game of Russian roulette with user patience, then bravo! The RPC server, they claim, will allow developers to build decentralized applications and automate processes. One can only hope these applications include a time machine to undo the Kraken listing debacle.

The Eternal Struggle of PI

Despite these grand gestures, the native token has languished in a state of genteel despair since its brief flirtation with $0.30. It now hovers below $0.18, a figure so pitiful it could make a statue weep. The upcoming token unlock schedule, with millions of coins set to be released, promises a performance more dramatic than a Shakespearean tragedy. Perhaps the Core Team will next offer a play titled “The Tragedy of the Unlocked Coins.”

Pi Testnet now has an RPC server.

This is a major step toward Smart Contracts being simulated, tested, and deployed.

RPC servers, those digital footmen, now allow programs to query data and submit transactions as if they were penning a love letter to the network. A bridge between dApps and wallets, yes, but also a bridge to nowhere for investors who dared to dream of prosperity.
