Jeffrey Wilcke, one of the original creators of Ethereum, recently sold a large amount of his Ether – around 79,258.61 ETH – which is worth about $157 million as of today. His digital wallet hadn’t been used for seven months before the sale.

Experts say the funds, worth approximately $54.37 million, were moved to the Kraken cryptocurrency exchange using four different accounts. The transfer totaled 27,421.73 ETH. Large transfers like this are often seen as a possible indication that the owner may be planning to sell their cryptocurrency.

After three months, Ethereum co-founder Jeffrey Wilcke has deposited another 9,840.36 ETH (approximately $41.33 million) into Kraken.

In May, he deposited 105,737 ETH into Kraken and distributed it to eight new addresses. One of those addresses has started transferring ETH back to an exchange within the last hour – potentially indicating an intention to sell at a higher price.

For reference, the 105,737 ETH deposited in May was worth around $2.62 million at the time.

This isn’t the first time Wilcke has made a large withdrawal. Back in August 2025, he transferred 9,840.36 ETH – approximately $41.33 million – to Kraken.
