So, apparently, nearly half of crypto news stories are now written by robots. 🤖 Yep, you heard that right. According to some report from this PR firm called Chainstory, AI is basically the new editor-in-chief of the crypto world. Who needs humans when you’ve got algorithms, right? 😒
- Chainstory looked at 80,000 articles across five major news sites. Because, you know, 80,000 is just the right number to make us believe they did actual work. 📊

Oh, and these publications were chosen because they actually admit to using AI. So, the real numbers could be higher. Or lower. Who knows? Chainstory sure doesn’t. 🤷♀️
Can You Spot the Robot Writer? 🤔
Chainstory asked some editors about their AI policies. One of them was our own crypto.news editor, Jayson Derrick. He says AI has a place in the newsroom but writing entire articles with it is like using a sledgehammer to crack an egg. 🥚💥
“AI is great for boring stuff like summarizing reports or finding stats. But when it comes to actual writing, it’s like listening to a robot tell a joke. No one’s laughing.” 😂
Derrick also pointed out that AI can’t fake a human voice. Yet. Articles written by AI sound like they were translated from Klingon. 🖖🤖
“Readers can tell when something wasn’t written by a real person. Unless they’re also robots. Then it’s a match made in Silicon Valley.” 🤖❤️
Afik Rechler, Co-CEO of Chainstory, chimed in with this gem:
“AI is everywhere in crypto journalism. But it can’t replace humans. Yet. It’s like giving a toddler a typewriter and expecting Shakespeare. 🖋️👶”
