Bitcoin’s Bearish Ballet: Will It Waltz Past $83,000 or Trip Over Its Own Ledger?

Well, I say, old bean, the chap Benjamin Cowen-crypto analyst extraordinaire, what?-has popped up again, this time with a rather gloomy prognosis for our dear Bitcoin. According to him, the poor blighter is stuck in what he calls a “bearish market structure,” which sounds about as cheerful as a wet weekend in Bognor Regis.

In his latest YouTube spiel, Cowen points out that Bitcoin has a habit of hitting the skids in February, as regular as clockwork, during previous bear markets-2014, 2018, 2022, and now, heaven help us, 2026. One can’t help but wonder if Bitcoin’s got a standing appointment with misfortune on its calendar.

But hold the phone, Cowen isn’t quite ready to don the rose-tinted spectacles. He reckons Bitcoin’s recent rally into March is about as meaningful as a chocolate teapot. The only thing that’ll change his tune, he says, is if BTC manages to close above the so-called “line in the sand” at $83,000. And let’s face it, that’s about as likely as Aunt Agatha approving of my latest romantic entanglement.

“I think it makes the most amount of sense to say that Bitcoin will likely get rejected,” Cowen opines, with all the cheerfulness of a undertaker at a funeral. “You could argue that as long as Bitcoin is trading below $83,000, nothing’s really changed… this is still just technically a lower high structure.” Jolly good show, Cowen, you’ve really lifted our spirits.

He then goes on to warn traders to keep their wits about them, citing the rather deceptive “fake out” behavior of 2022. “What I think is going to happen in the market is that we will form a lower high and then Bitcoin will just sell off into a lower low,” he predicts, with all the optimism of a man who’s just been told his favorite club is closing down.

So there you have it, chaps. Bitcoin’s future looks about as bright as a London pea-souper. But hey, what’s life without a bit of excitement, eh?
