Then comes the warm hug of a scam: “Human verification, step 1: Bless my soul!” Then step 2: “2FA activated! 50% benchmarks achieved, 200% of your sanity lost.” And step 3: BOOM! A prompt for your SEED PHRASE. Oh, did they call it “checksum validation”? Of course, because nothing says “do not panic” like a folder full of secret words from your robot dog.
Sophisticated scam technique
This scam is less “hack” and more “psychological warfare.” It steals jargon like “security encryption” and “two-factor authentication”-phrases we’ve heard so much it feels like jury duty. They even throw in countdown timers and progress bars. Clever. Now I’m watching a rectangle fill while my password becomes unrelated to this thread.
Remember: MetaMask never asks for your seed phrase. That’s like them asking you to hand over your kid’s college fund in exchange for a coupon. They do everything in the app. Not emails. Not txts. Not a suspiciously linked Bob Ross painting of a blockchain. And 2FA updates? Only if you’ve upgraded to the year 2009.
