Vietnam Gets Crypto Exchange (Because the World Needed Another One) 🤦‍♂️

So get this – South Korea’s Dunamu, the folks behind Upbit (you know, that exchange where everyone’s cousin’s friend made money until they didn’t 😏), is teaming up with Vietnam’s MB Bank to launch Vietnam’s first licensed crypto exchange. Because clearly, what the world needs is another place to lose money on digital assets! 💸

Vietnam Decides to Join the Crypto Circus 🤹‍♂️

After watching the rest of the world lose their shirts on cryptocurrency for years, Vietnam finally said, “Alright, fine, we’ll take a spin on this rollercoaster too!” 🎢 They’re launching their first crypto exchange through this shiny new Dunamu-MB Bank partnership. Dunamu? Oh, just the geniuses behind Upbit, South Korea’s “We swear this isn’t a Ponzi scheme” exchange.

Here’s the deal: Dunamu will provide the “technology” (read: complicated graphs that go up and down), “infrastructure” (servers that crash at the worst possible moment), and “expertise” (knowing how to say “HODL” with a straight face). MB Bank, meanwhile, gets to provide… uh, actual money? 💵 Because somebody’s got to pay for those Lambos.

Oh Kyoung-suk, Dunamu CEO: “When Vietnam’s 20 million crypto holders meet Upbit…” Wait, 20 MILLION?! 😱 Who are these people? Did Vietnam just skip traditional banking altogether? “Trust us,” he says. Yeah, right after I trust that guy who DM’d me about a Bitcoin doubling service.

And of course, the timing is “perfect.” Vietnam just passed a law saying, “Sure, digital assets are a thing now.” Because nothing screams “sound financial policy” like waiting until after everyone’s already gambling on crypto to make it official. 🎰

Oh, but Dunamu has such a great track record! They processed over $1.1 trillion in trades! 🤑 …And contributed to shaping South Korea’s crypto regulations! Translation: they wrote the rules so they wouldn’t get in trouble. Smart. Maybe Vietnam should’ve let Bithumb bid too-at least then there’d be some competition for who can mismanage funds best.

Anyway, congrats, Vietnam! Welcome to the crypto party-just in time for the hangover. 🍾
